In a unexpected partnership that defies traditional expectations, the game developer has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including free additional story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Uncovered

According to the official statement, "A mysterious meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and terrifying changes resonate through the obscurity." The narrative presents a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a hidden cult.

The mission focuses on "bizarre trials and a terrifying adversary" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Places and Transformations

The trailer showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a striking scene showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Prizes and Bonus Content

Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an exclusive katana in addition to several items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Special implements
• Survey Corps mount

Third Free Story Addition

This patch also adds the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe introduces a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
